No, the President Trump did not changed his view on international trade, nor his view on immigration and refugees, nor he took “lessons on international politics” as mainstream media predicted. While the German chancellor Angela Merkel talked about mutual benefit in international trade, president Trump held his position on Chinese currency manipulation and NAFTA as a bad deal. They both agreed that everything that have to be changed, should be actually re-negotiated.
Speaking about refugees, Angela Merkel sad that the biggest issue is the integration of the people that are already IN, while Trump repeated his idea that refugees and immigrants are not the same, that immigration MUST be legal, and the refugees must be separated from potential terrorists. The ideas that won the US elections, now are US official politics, and they are not rejected by our greatest partners. Not bad for now.
